Destiny 2 Fan Art: Crucible & Iron Banner Revamp
A collection of fan art the MMORPG looter shooter, Destiny 2, that I was commissioned to illustrate for a fan. The client wanted to revamp an "evolving" set of armor for each of the three classes that could be won in the game's player vs. player mode, Crucible, as well as two weapons to go with them. Later, I was tasked to design a weapon to be won in Destiny 2's Iron Banner.
The Crucible armor and weapons were themed after popular figures from ancient Greek mythology while the Iron Banner weapons was themed after a legendary weapon from Nordic mythology.
Concept: Poseidon, the Hunter
The Hunter was based off of Poseidon, god of the ocean. I incorporated fin and shell-like details to convey this, and additonally styled the Hunter's cape after fish tails.
Concept: Zeus, the Titan
The Titan was themed after Zeus, the god of skies and storms. Because Titans tend to be powerful and sturdy, I focused on patterns rather than sculpted form to convey Zeus' famed thunderbolts.
Concept: Hades, the Warlock
Who better to represent the scholarly Warlock than Hades, lord of the Underworld and keepr of the dead? Here I threw in references to Hades' famous three-headed hound, Cerberus, and to the wealth of shining coins buried with the dead.
